If you’re looking for a place to get (or stay) motivated and need a friend to help you – whether it’s in the area of physical fitness, weight loss, financial peace, breaking a bad habit, improving your relationships or the like – you’ve come to the right place.
To Well With You is a place where we can talk about all those things and more.
I’m a certified wellness coach, but don’t get the idea that limits our topics to diet and exercise. It’s where a lot of people want to start, but wellness is so much more than that. I take a holistic approach, and my job is to bring out your intrinsic motivation for improving whatever area of your life you think could use some tweaking … or a complete overhaul.
I’m not your mother, your priest or your drill sergeant. My job is not to tell you what to do or try to send you on a guilt trip (baggage included) if you don’t follow through; my job is to help you figure out what you want to change and why (with a big emphasis on the why) and then help you set goals that will put you well on the path you choose.
Change is hard.
Let me repeat that: CHANGE IS HARD.
Wanna know why I wanted to be a wellness coach?
Because, news flash: CHANGE IS HARD. But it’s easier with a friend. Or a coach, or a mentor, whatever you want to call me. Just don’t call me late for dinner. (Sorry, couldn’t resist.)
I’ve made some difficult changes in my life – some that stuck and some that didn’t – and I wish I’d had more support from those who’d gone through those same challenges and come out stronger and wiser for the journey. Not that I asked for help and was turned down – it’s just that life is busy (another news flash), and asking for help takes guts. Sometimes I asked for help (and received it), and sometimes I tried to go it alone. Trust me, taking the journey with someone alongside is much better.
I’m much more likely to stick with a plan if someone’s holding me accountable and cheering me on, and I bet the same is true for you.
Think of me as your accountability buddy.
As a certified wellness coach, I’ve learned some techniques for drawing out your motivations. Mainly, we’ll just talk. You are the boss of you, because you are the expert on YOU. I just listen, ask questions and gently nudge you in a positive direction. You set the agenda, you make the goals, you have to look at yourself in the mirror every morning.
If you visit To Well With You regularly, you’ll begin to understand what I mean. You can subscribe to email updates by filling out the Subscribe form at the top right of any page. Don’t worry – I won’t sell your email address or bombard you with messages; I’ll simply send you a notification every time I publish a post, which will be at least once a week but never more than 3-4 times in a week (I have a full-time job offline that keeps me plenty busy). When you sign up, you’ll receive a free downloadable PDF of my resource “8 Tips for Saying No Graciously.”
Thank you for visiting. I hope you’ll enjoy the journey.
